A Dream Come True

I turned #50 in June, and Don honored me with the gift of a surprise trip to Hawaii in October.
Hawaii has been my dream since I was as young as I can remember. Last week my dream came true, not just in Maui, but also in my heart.
In a Western World where more is better—doing more, making more, going more, working more, the reality is that “more” is not better. More is just more unless “more” is “more time together”
That’s why Maui was even more of a dream than I could’ve imagined. We had the luxury of time and more time and time again and again and again with every rise of the sun.
I know going to Hawaii is extravagant, takes a lot of effort, savings, organizing and setting up logistics; however, the destination is only part of the dream.
The dream comes true when you hold a long gaze with your love, you clasp hands and walk the beach together, you act silly, you write in the sand, stand amazed at creation and take time to soak it in, and every morning you wake up together with no agenda but to be together.
That’s the dream, friends, my dream...the renewing of relationship, the flame reignited, the stress and anxiety washed away...and the two of you whose heart’s were knitted together by the great Creator spend time in the arms of the other and remember that God did not make us to live lives of stress and anxiety. He created us to nurture relationship and love over and over and over again.
There are no words powerful enough to thank you, my love, for setting the course for a dream come true in each and every facet of beautiful togetherness. I love you Don!
