It’s Saturday night. The first Saturday in the month of March 2019...March 2. Actually, there’s only about 30 minutes left in the day.

Amelia's Flowers

I’ve just climbed into bed having had a good day with Don, Eliza and Scout.

The three of of us hung out at the house for most of the morning...trying to turn another gray day into something more...

We went to The Factory for Açaí bowls. Yum. We walked in and out of the shops and meandered along the wide glazed concrete halls.

While Don was browsing in a record shop, Eliza and I stumbled upon Amelia’s Flowers...not a shop per se...more like a large booth. There were large containers filled with different varieties of flowers. There were rose scented candles, large matchboxes, and other sweet sundries on the tables.

I led a few stems of beautiful, vintage pink roses, two white Mums, and a couple sprigs of teeny flowers to go with them and made my own bouquet.

I can't get enough of beautiful flowers. Blooms in Winter feel like sources of light in the gray-ness of the season. My bouquet became a way to wipe away the gray of the day.

Don, Eliza and I spent the rest of the day together...watching The Office, the end of a docu-series Don was watching on Lorena Bobbitt, and a movie that had potential but ended flat.

By by then we were ready to make a move, and the three of us along with Scout hopped in the car and went to Sonic for ice cream! We came home and watched another movie.

As as I lay my head on my pillow, I’m grateful for the simplicities of the day that have made for very special memories of time spent together.
