It's High Time

I woke up unusually happy this morning. I just had a good endorphin feeling...my dopamine seems to be up and flowing better. It could be the 88% dark chocolate that I eat, but I don't have that until I make my mocha java, almond milk, cold-brew, personal "frappuccino"...that's where the dark chocolate comes in. I mix it in the blender with milks & coffee. Then, I add some cayenne pepper and Vietnamese cinnamon. Yum!

At any rate, I stopped writing for a minute to play with Scout. He brought his ball to me. Thing is...Scout prefers tug-o-war to chasing the ball. He will rarely drop it for me to throw. So, I think this is where the coffee and dark chocolate kicked in because I rough-housed with him thru the kitchen, around the island, in the dining room and under the dining room table. Wore me out. Thought it wore him out too but only for 3 minutes. He's got that ball back in his mouth!

I'm not playing right now though. I want to focus...ahh, he just layed down on the harwoods. I can think better (I think!)...might have dawned on me why I woke up feeling so pumped...

Today I go see my spiritual director. I love her. Our sessions are so different from traditional counseling. I undoubtedly walk away with a revelation, an experience...something that is new and exciting.

I like how she guides me, lets me talk, listens to attentively, processes and then gives something back to me to think about. We talk about Jesus. I love talking about Jesus as my spiritual guide, thinking about what he might be trying to show me/tell me. During my sessions, the scales fall off of my eyes, and I wake up to newness and perspective.

It's wonderful. Soul-food. Heart medicine. Cup-filling {overflowing}. New direction. Life-giving. Self-care. My time. For me...so I can be a better me and better still for those around me.
