When I was visiting Mom and Dad yesterday, Dad and I got on the topic of travel after Mom had to take Carly to the vet. Travel talk for Dad and me is a love language. We both have always had a passion for travel, and Dad is one of the best vacation planners I've ever known...especially while growing up and as a young adult.
I was telling Dad about Don's quick trip to Anaheim and his invitation to lunch by a friend who works with The Resort at Pelican Hill Newport Beach, CA. I didn't know he was going, and he didn't know how gorgeous the 5 star luxury hotel/resort was going to be... Wow! I looked it up right after Don sent me a picture! Of course I did!

OMG! I want to go there so badly! haha, of course I do! Luxury resort. California. Pacific Ocean views. A completely round swimming pool. Views galore...my kind of place
Don mentioned to me that we had been invited by his friend. So, Dad and I started dreaming of a trip... He started it! Haha! I joined along with his vision.
Earlier, I had told Dad that one of my goals for 2019 is to go to San Francisco at least once this year to visit Christian & Kyle, Mimi & Steve and to finally meet Shauna in person!
Dad's face lit up, and he said that Don and I should go to Pelican Hill and stay and then drive up the PCH to SFO, stopping along the way to soak in all of the beautiful scenery. I've never done that before...sounds dreamy.
Later yesterday, I took the travel vision a step further and started thinking about my upcoming 50th birthday... Aha! Don and I take two weeks off, fly to Anaheim and stay at Pelican Hill, then drive up PCH like mentioned above, see everyone, stay a night or two and then fly to my dream destination...Hawaii! (and stay at the Ritz property or Four Seasons!).
I can't help but smile. The visuals are soul food for me. Whether the trip happens the way I described it or not, I love expressing myself and my desires. Really, I could get super into details and more, but I'm going to rest in the imagined thoughts of an excursion to celebrate my year of Jubilee!
Mom taught me about The Year of Jubilee when Heartbeat turned 50. I learned that Jubilee is a celebration, most often an anniversary or birthday of the 50th year.
From conversation with Mom and Dad-, to talking to Dad about travel-, to thinking about celebrating my 50th, to mulling over travel fantasies, to daydreaming and, most importantly, enjoying the view along the way...
