It's been a good morning...and not just because the sun is out...but THE SUN IS OUT!
I've been hesitant to share/socialize my blog. Obviously, as I've told myself before, this is a place for me to out-run performance and move into authenticity.
The link to my blog is in my Instagram bio. I subtly mentioned it several days ago. What I didn't do is announce it to any of my family members which was intentional because I'm in a deliberate, self-motivated process, and I'm first and foremost writing for me and not for feedback, critique or praise.
I shared my blog link with Don this morning. He didn't know about it because, like I said, I didn't really tell anyone in particular...just a nonchalant mention in a passing post easily scrolled over and missed.
What I enjoyed most about mentioning my blog to Don is that his response was beautiful and authentic...no critique, no "feedback"...just a true voice of encouragement which I suppose could be confused with my desire for validation, but that's not how I received it.
"What didn't happen is more important..."
Did I feel good about what he said? emphatically, "yes"! Did any of my performance-oriented brain seep through? "yep"! But what didn't happen is more important...
I didn't stay in performance mode. I genuinely felt authenticity and an underlying note...but crucial...of individuality...the me in me that is working her way through to the joy of self and the importance of living my life as me... I like me...so nice to see you again, Laura Lyn.
