Pay Attention

What do you pay attention to?
How many things do you try to do at once?
It's easy to bounce from one task to another
At home
At work
On your commute
Using your phone
Working on your computer

We were created for center, but the human nature and ability to focus has long been lost over the course of history.
We've been conditioned to race to the top by accomplishing as many things as possible all at once instead of focusing on one goal at a time.
Multi-tasking = reduced performance and lack of quality
Recently, a friend of mine told me about a psychology class that she had taken where she learned about a surprising brain study disproving the effectiveness of multi-tasking... at least for most of us.
Since then, I've read several articles on the study
Shockingly, a mere 2.5% of the world's population can actually multi-task at a high performance rate
We should've known
We should know
The most effective way to do something and do it well is to fix your focus on the object, person, project or moment at hand... unless, that is, you're 1 of the 2.5%
If you think that you are one of these "Supertaskers", ask your boss, your friend, your spouse, your child... he or she may have a more accurate opinion
Better yet, leave the multi-tasking behind and don't give in to the temptation of distraction!
