Writing at the end of the day, when I’m in bed, is not the best time for me to write.

During the the day I’ve had thoughts on what I want to write but by 10 it’s too late for much.

Yet...I will try

I got out in in the yard today and we had so many weeds to pull. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen so many. Part of it has to be because of our mild winter and plants blooming in February.

While i I was pulling and tugging out weed after weed after weed, a Kasey Musgraves song started playing in my head (not Dandelion at first...that one came later when I was looking at the Dandelions!)...the refrain ”I’m just blowing smoke” popped up, and I was singing “I’m just pulling weeds!”

Then I thought about the cathartic feeling I have when I pull weeds. It’s a biggger deal than just blowin’ smoke...an opportunity for positive relief...stress, anger, frustration, sadness... all of it. Plus I think a lot when I’m outside working in the yard.

And as I head to bed, I’m thinking that I’m glad I took a minute to write a littl and reflect on one part of the day.
