Taking off the Shutters

Clearing my mind has always been hard for me
I practice deep breathing
Sometimes meditation and yoga
all are helpful

What's hard for me is to declutter my brain
sweep out the cobwebs from the corners
wipe down the layers of dust that have accumulated over the years
My Artist Way course is helping me clear the clutter.
I've been skeptical of its effect
But I'm inching forward toward being a timid believer
Driving today, I spied a field floating in a sea of sunny, yellow flowers
Yellow is happy
I was happy
Writing in the mornings, first thing, isn't easy, but I feel like it's meditative for me
Jotting down my stream of conscious on three pages every day feels like cleaning house
There's more room for
noticing
remembering
creating
imagining
It's like taking off the plantation shutters fixed to the windows for 18 years
Who knew how robbed we were of an unobstructed view
Sunlight, clarity held back for decades
The view is breathtaking and just gets better...
